I’d like to point out that in Dean Koontz’s novel, The Husband, he wrote: most pits are are nice as nuns, but knowing Mitch’s luck he wouldn’t run into Sister Pit, but into demon dog.

That made me smile.

What Breed-Specific things have you seen in books (like I listed above)?

My dad named his cat Cujo, I forgot to add that, lol. SHE’s as sweet as can be!
