Does anyone know of any good books similar to Twilight and New Moon?

Friday, October 30th, 2009
TwilightStar asked:

I read Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer, and I fell in love with them. I’m looking for some really good vampire romances.
These are the ones I’ve already read:
Twilight
New Moon
Boys that Bite
The Silver Kiss
Blood and Chocolate

I don’t just want a little bit of romance, I’m looking for something with a LOT (like Stephenie Meyer’s books). Some horror/action would be nice, but it’s not necessary. If you know any websites where I can find summaries/lists of vampire romances, that would be helpful, too. Thank you so much!!!!

My sister is having a baby and it’s her first and I would like to get some informational books on basics on how to care for a baby, advice, things to look for with health, etc. It’s my first nephew as well, and I’m baby-ignorant so I would like to learn how to take care of one.

What books are in the new Thomas Nelson Orthodox Study Bible?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009
asked:

I know what books are in the Orthodox canon, but I would like to know if the Thomas Nelson Orthodox Study Bible has the entire canon in it (like the Book of Odes). This question would probably be answered best by those who have at least seen the table of contents from the book.

How come new books always come out in hardcover?

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Fairasta asked:

I know this is a useless question, but I really see no reason for books to always come out in hardcover first, I mean why can’t they just be paperback right away? And what’s the point of hardcovers anyways?

What help/resources/books can you recommend for learning a new language?

I did Italian at school and I want to re-learn the language as I’m pretty rusty! I know the very basic, but I want to learn to speak fluent. Any books/tapes/packs anyone has used that are good and helpful?

Thanks!

What does the library do with all those copies of new books?

cinders asked:

My library system has 200 copies of The Lost Symbol (with more than 1100+ users on hold). That’s immense!!

In a few years, there’ll probably be only 20 copies of The Lost Symbol. I’ve always seen libraries order massive amounts of books (never this many though) and then they’re slowly depleted. Some are damaged and lost and stolen, no doubt. But what do libraries do with the rest of them?
